When
To Send Messages
To Your Opt In List
If you
are publishing an ezine you may be wondering how often you
should send messages to your list and whether it effects
the response rates to your offers. The frequency of your
emails will determine how successful you are.
The
key to creating a responsive list is building a relationship
with your subscribers and this is achieved by sending messages
on a regular basis. If you provide quality content you will
quickly build credibility and brand yourself as an expert
in your chosen field.
For
best results you should be emailing your list at least once
per week with useful content related to what your ezine
is about. In between these messages you can send recommendations
for various products that your subscribers would be interested.
You
can either send each message manually using the broadcast
feature in your auto responder or you can write a series
of messages which you can upload into your auto responder
allowing them to be sent on a timeframe that you specify.
It just
depends how much work you want to do yourself and how much
involvement you want to have. If you want everything to
run on autopilot you should definitely create as many messages
as you can and upload them into your auto responder.
This
will allow you to concentrate on collecting leads for your
opt in list and it also means that every single subscriber
will receive all of the messages (which doesn't happen if
you use the broadcast feature because anyone who subscribes
after you have sent the message will not receive it).
There
are many list owners who have created a series of messages
that will be sent out once per week for over a year so all
they have to do is put all of their efforts into collecting
new subscribers and then allowing the auto responder to
do all of the work for them.
This
is what auto responders where designed to do which is automatically
keep in contact with subscribers over a long period of time.
As well as this you can also send broadcast to your list
whenever you want to keep them updated with the latest news.
Each
of your follow up messages should be sent five to seven
days after the previous so that you don't swamp your subscribers
with constant emails. This also gives you time to send broadcast
messages in between each follow up without overwhelming
your subscribers.
